"Look, up at the sky. There is a light, a beauty up there, that no shadow can touch" ~ J. R. R. Tolkien
Where we look is what we see.
How we look is what we feel.
In times of shadow, when the world is dimmed by anxiety and worry, we can stare into the dark and wonder when it will end.
Or we can search for the beauty, the light, that no shadow can touch.
In the winter, I don’t look for drab landscapes and barren trees. I celebrate bluebirds and how much easier they are to discover.
New things are waiting to enter our lives…
as soon as we look up and invite in them in.
May you search this week for your own moments of renewal and faith, and may you nurture a thirsty world with your own unique light.
