“Love is the bridge between you and everything.” ~ Rumi
We can learn, be, become anything. When I think of the magic of photography, when I immerse myself in capturing our natural world, how very lucky I feel to be on this path. And with many, MANY other photographers, guides and mentors and friends, more gifted than I.
I’m comfortable with creating. Being a professional artist (writer) for closing in on two decades does that. I enter the world seeing it differently and longing to share my stories. Having a visual medium to affect that has been a revelation. And I’m thrilled to share my wacky, off-beat, eager to bring “nothing much here” to vivid life for others to explore.
Yet I long to become better, better still at the craft of capturing successful images. I practice and work hard to master the technical preciseness of exposure, lens choice, composition, etc. Still every day, the drive to create matters most.
In the end, though, this is an art. And the art will always have its say.
The bridge between seeing and creating what only you can envision is love, I think:
The compulsion to share and be known and lift up where others have fallen.
The “sight” of a journeyman, seeking others on the same path.
The hope refusing to be silenced, when others would engage with despair and fear.
Have we lost or are we found? Is our path decaying, or can we see the color and life shining through?. Is our focus renewal, or the nothingness others anticipate beyond this mortal life?
There’s so much to do and see and become today.
Create the world you long to live and share…
